Location: Home Office, Chicago Reports to: Head of People & Talent Position Summary: As an HR Business Partner, you will provide leadership, strategic consultation, coaching, and support to drive talent strategies and champion our unique culture with leaders and leadership teams. This role will focus on identifying and implementing solutions in support of evolving business needs, ensuring that the overall organization and culture are designed around strategic talent growth with a strong focus on talent development, succession planning and a culture of inclusion. The HRBP serves as a partner and advisor to home office leadership on HR related issues which may include performance management, workforce planning, associate relations, talent acquisition, organizational and leadership development, compensation, and benefits. This is a hybrid role; three days from our Home Office, located in Chicago. Reporting directly to Head of People & Talent. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Assess and anticipate HR-related needs, communicating needs proactively within the HR department and across the operating business units; seeks to develop integrated solutions. Develop partnerships across business units to deliver value added service to management and associates that reflect the business objectives of the organization. Provide expert and objective advice, coaching, and counsel to leaders and associates on talent programs, policy and procedures, employment/labor laws, conflict resolution, change management and organizational development while effectively mitigating business and company risk. Conduct associate relation investigations, maintain investigation files, and partner with stakeholders on high-risk cases. Develop and implement broad people strategies; Work cross-functionally to drive department specific projects and initiatives through our people. Develops, recommends, and communicates strategies for enhancements to Associate Relations/Human Resources Programs to include process improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy. Support full-cycle recruitment for key corporate positions, partner closely with Talent Acquisition department to develop and execute recruitment strategy for corporate roles. Administers the annual review, preparation and administration of the wage and incentive program; provide support to managers with promotions, annual salary increases cycles, and minimum wage increases as needed. Partner with Learning & Development team to conduct training needs analysis, develop training and deliver compliance and leadership training. Promote and advocate for workplace engagement and provide support for ongoing efforts. Other projects or duties as assigned. Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience is required. 5+ years of comparable HRBP experience, additional specialized experience such as Recruiting, Organizational Development, Talent Management experience a plus 3-5 years' experience in a multi-unit restaurant, hospitality or retail environment is preferred. Knowledge of HR/labor laws, proven ability to handle confidential information and familiar with national and local legislation with experience in employee relations and HR compliance. Strong interpersonal skills: ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders. Ability to prepare and present information to guests, more senior associates, vendors, and management. Ability to work as a self-directed individual taking initiative to identify and address business needs. Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities. Solid knowledge and experience implementing recruitment/talent strategies. Flexible, enthusiastic, and resourceful leader with a true passion for the business of people. Possessing a friendly and approachable demeanor with strong problem-solving skills. Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point Must be able to travel up to 20% to support business needs. This position must pass a post-offer background check. Preferred Skills and Experience: PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred. Experience working in corporate environment supporting all departments Physical Requirements: Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; frequent use of telephone/video conferencing and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting, up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.
